Thornton Donovan Parent Teacher Organization Meeting Minutes
Date: Thursday, April 9
Location: Berns Library, Main Building

The PTO meeting was held to review and approve the organization’s bylaws, initiate steps toward establishing an EIN and bank account, and continue planning for the upcoming TD Family Lawn Party (BBQ).

‍ ‍Bylaws & PTO Formation‍ ‍

• The process for obtaining an EIN and the steps required to establish a PTO bank account were explained to all members present.

• Copies of the bylaws were distributed to the 10 members in attendance.

• The bylaws were reviewed and approved by those present.‍

  ‍ ‍

Following the review of the bylaws, PTO board members were elected as follows:‍ ‍

• President: Elizabeth Sing

• Vice President: Alexandra Charney

• Treasurer: Lisa Farago

• Secretary: La Shawn Wiggins

All members unanimously agreed to the elected officials.

Next Steps‍ ‍

• Proceed with obtaining an EIN.

• Begin the process of opening a PTO bank account.‍ ‍

• Proposed annual PTO dues of $20–$25 were discussed.

• Final decision will be voted on at a future meeting.‍‍ ‍

TD Family Lawn Party (BBQ)‍ ‍

• Reviewed the event flyer.

• TD Seniors proposed hosting a raffle and car wash as fundraising activities—approved by members.

• Discussed event needs, including food trays and sandwiches.

‍ ‍‍Additional Announcements‍ ‍

• Taya shared information about the upcoming Spring Festival scheduled for Saturday.
